Course: Knitting in the Round- An Introduction to Knitting through Hats.

The goal of this course is to introduce people to knitting by making fun, versatile hats. We will create at least one hat per student during our time together. You will learn how to cast on, do knit and purl stitches, obtain gauge, knit in the round, decrease, and finish.

Most materials are available at Baker’s Fabrics in Springfield. All materials are available online.
1 ball of Lion Brand Wool-Ease, worsted weight, in your choice of color
1 set of double-pointed needles, size 7US, in your choice of material
1 set of double-pointed needles, size 5US, in your choice of material
1 set of steel yarn needles
Other:
1 small tape measure
1 small set of scissors
1 small notebook with writing implement
1 bag to carry your project and sundry items
KAIT BINGHAM has been knitting for about eight years. This will be her first time teaching a class but has taught many people the basics and helped found and run a knitting club in Manchester. She loves to knit socks and hats because they are so portable and versatile!
